Rubik's Cube Difficulty Ratings

1.0-1.9 - Intuitive (Very few if any algorithms, short algorithms, easy to understand)

2.0-2.9 - Simple (Few algorithms, short but longer algorithms, might be hard for some people)

3.0-3.9 - Average (Multiple algorithms, average length algorithms, you'll most likely need a tutorial for these)

4.0-4.9 - Difficult (Confusing mechanics, many algorithms, parity cases, gets very hard here)

5.0 - Impossible (Too hard for me)

  • 1 Intuitive Puzzles
  • 2 Simple Puzzles
  • 3 Average Puzzles
  • 4 Difficult Puzzles
  • 5 Impossible Puzzles (the ones I can't solve)

0x0 - 1.0 (It doesn't even exist....)

1x1x1 - 1.0 (I don't have it but I can definitely judge the difficulty of this thing)

2x2 Pyraminx - 1.1 (Pyraminx if it was just the trivial tips. Also don't have this one but whateve…

Algorithms of the Rubik's Cube

A while ago I attempted to write down all the unique five move algorithms for the Rubik's cube, but was eventually overcome with the sheer number of them. This time however, I plan to go much farther; how much farther remains to the level of my patience in finding these by hand.

Middle slice turns and cube rotations have been excluded, note to that double-turns count as only one move, and the algorithms recorded are in the following form: . Not all combinations of moves are recorded, because certain sequences of moves like

Me

Pretty straight-forward, all of you know how to do this...I think. (sorry roux, petrus, and other non-cross method users)

Do F2L but the corners have any choice while the edges have to be matching the centers. And the edges have to be oriented correctly.

Do OLL then PLL, if you end up in an unsolveable state relative to the yellow side, do M2 U2 M2.

Do regular PLL.

My "Over the Top" cube arrived today!

I was expecting my OTT Cube to arrive as a (3D-printed) kit of parts; and indeed, this is what I got.

What I wasn't expecting was that it is just parts — no instructions. Come on guys, I paid around £2600 for this kit (no, there isn't an extra zero there), surely another 50p more for a few photocopied sheets on how to assemble the thing (plus what parts are there, and how many of each there should be) wouldn't be too much to ask?

Plus I forgot to order stickers for the thing (those are sold separately, by Olivérs).

I am now doing a web search on "how to assemble an Over the Top Cube" — surely Oskar Van Deventer, if nobody else, has published one? Wish me luck...

Inappropriate stuff on "Wanted Pages"

I don't want to talk about this, but there is stuff like going on a date and I am not even going to bother taking a picture of it. If anyone wants the link, it's here. There was something about spying a naked schoolgirl and something about where to get loans and there are even comments (like an automated one by the admin SuperAlpha1) including those things. So is there any way to get rid of all of that just in case a person under 15 years old somehow gets here and starts editing and sees all this?

Cleaning and Updating?

There have been multiple pages with improper grammar (especially in the parts mentioning the leaderboard for WikiCube) and many pages that are marked for deletion, contrary to the request that the deletion page should be empty for most of the time.

There have also been articles with dead links that are not in the dead links category for some reason.

The WCA records are now outdated; they go up to 2015 and we are in the year 2017.

So I really think we should clean this place, though there would be so much work... and there are also more puzzles not yet mentioned on this site (ie. Dogic Puzzles)... this is going to take a long time. So please answer, should we clean the wiki?
